More True Love (Part II: Awake)

You had moved on. I opened my eyes. You were long gone. I had seaweed growing in my skin. You had found someone new. I had a crab where my belly used to be. You were happy. I was dead. You mixed the concrete poorly. It cracked and set me free. You lived your life. I floated to the surface. You had a family. I had my hatred. You played the spouse. I walked at night. You lived. I waited. Your partner and child away, you had a weekend alone. I came in the back. You drank and watched movies. I saw you. You saw me. You screamed. I kissed you. For two days we played like old times. Was it good for you? It was good for me.  Your heart gave out. I removed it from your chest. You had taken mine, and now I had yours. I kissed you again. Your eyes opened. I took you by that hand. You shook your head violently. I dragged you to the sea. You screamed. I chained us together. Into the sea we went. True love is forever.

And please, say to me, you’ll let me hold your hand! (Apologies to the Beatles.) Magnificent art by Adam Archer!
